Sydney Olympic Park

The 2000 Olympics really put Sydney on the international map as a tourist destination. Now, the Olympics has passed but locals and visitors are still celebrating the impressive Sydney Olympic Park.

Sydney Olympic Park is crammed full of sporting venues including Telstra Stadium which hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the games. The stadium today plays host to Concerts, Rugby League Finals and World Cup Rugby.

The Aquatic Centre’s 3 pools including the Olympic pool (home to multiple Olympic and world records), diving/water polo pool or the kiddies learn-to-swim pool are all open to the public. The centre also has mega-fun water slides for the kids and steam rooms, saunas and gymnasium for the adults.

If you’re into Tennis you’ll love the Sydney Tennis Stadium which sees regular competitive action as well as the Australian Open and Davis Cup.

Not to mention the Hockey Stadium, Archery Centre, Golf Centre, Sydney Superdome and world class competition bike tracks.

Getting to and from the Park is easy with regular public transport available including Ferry, Bus and there is even a near-by train station. If you decide to stay for a few days you’ll find that accommodation at Sydney Olympic Park is readily available and very affordable.
